Congressman Gus M. Bilirakis is a Republican representing Florida's 12th Congressional District, which includes all of Citrus and Hernando counties and most of Pasco County.  He was first elected to Congress on November 7, 2006. Gus serves as a Senior Member of  the Energy and Commerce Committee. He is the Chairman of the Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade Subcommittee.  He is also a Senior Member of  the Health Subcommittee and the Communications and Technology Subcommittee. With 78 provisions he has authored signed into law, Congressman Bilirakis was recently designated as the 31st Most Effective Lawmaker in Congress by the Center for Effective Lawmaking at Vanderbilt University.

Working in a bipartisan manner, his main priorities include controlling government spending, creating jobs for middle class Americans, finding ways for government to operate smaller and smarter, and lowering taxes. He is also committed to strengthening homeland security, improving education, increasing access to quality health care, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, protecting Veterans' benefits, ensuring the long-term viability of Social Security and Medicare, and improving emergency preparedness and response.

OASIS is a non‐denominational, Christian, faith‐based, non‐profit ministry that offers encouragement and support to all women and families experiencing a planned or unplanned pregnancy, regardless of faith or background. We have five centers, three in Pasco County (Land O Lakes, Wesley Chapel, and Dade City) and two in north Hillsborough County (Tampa). Women, teens, and families experiencing unplanned pregnancies can find hope at OASIS. Clients can receive free pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, peer counseling, education, and information on childbirth, fetal development, and prenatal care. We also offer information on adoption and the value and sanctity of human life along with practical assistance for mother and child. Although we do not recommend or provide referrals, we give accurate information about abortion risks and procedures. Most of all, unconditional love is extended to all family members, providing them with God’s intended sense of dignity and self-worth. All information is kept confidential.
